Happy thanksgiving from Angela and the Outrageous8

Hey all you music lovers and Outrageous8 listeners..

Here we are in NOVEMBER already....can you believe it. It's really not like any November before, that's for sure:)

Da Boyz in the band and I have been talking quite a lot...about how interesting and difficult this "virtual" music making has been since March. Frankly, we can't start rehearsing until around 7PM at our wednesday rehearsals because of people's schedules...and though we are so grateful to our friend and singer Al Timss for the use of his backyard as our rehearsal space...BABY, IT'S COLD OUT SIDE...:)

But at the end of the day, as we run down a new Rocky Davis chart , a custom made version of MEAN TO ME, and Al sang it just SOO great...(made you think that Dean was there in the backyard with us) we all feel so thankful to still be rehearsing...to plug along and try and play down the frustratingly musically difficult Harry Smallenburg Christmas tunes...again and again...and still have to stop and have Paul Literall ask Harry..."Harry, did you MEAN to create that chord?"...and everybody yukking it up...as the warmth and the bonding that we have developed as band envelops us in our own circle of warmth...to get us through the chilly night.

Even though we find ourselves in a Global Pandemic...and we are ALL trying to do sooo many things that we've never done before...and even do THAT in a new way? I find myself wryly acknowledging...there is much to be thankful for.

A beautiful clear Fall day..the blaze of sunshine through my window...where I work from home...at work:) The smell of somebody starting a fire to ward off the slight Los Angeles chill (OMG it's down to 65 degrees!!) The smile and warmth of friends and co workers on a Zoom, of course.....in some cases..people making an effort to be MORE kind, MORE patient...because trite as it may sound...we are all in this ...together.

People repeat that phrase a lot, and it always irritates me.

But it doesn't make it any less true.

I know Da Boyz and I and Al Timss and Jackie and Kathryn Hopkins..our marketing manager..all send out the warmest regards to you. If you’re hanging with your fam...If you're cookin’ a turkey at your house...if you're just enjoying a QUIET moment of respite during this Holiday...know that we are sending you good wishes of comfort and joy.

Sometimes you have to really squint your eyes? But if you look really hard? There is always time for a Thanksgiving...

Much love

Angela
